Meet The Founder

Hello, I am Anthony Williams, Founder and CEO of Changing BOYS MANtality MENtoring, a boys mentorship program that was birthed through passion and trauma, but developed with a purpose. As a native of East Baltimore, I grew up in a two parent home but the presence of a father didn’t last very long. At a young age, I also was attracted to the inner city streets of Baltimore City at a time where street violence and crime was not prevalent as it is in today’s society. Most of my early childhood years were filled with innocence until I began to gravitate to hanging with older boys in our neighborhood and they allowed me to partake in experimenting with drugs and alcohol while I was in elementary school. Although I was not labeled or considered an “at risk” youth, I experienced much of what our youth are faced with today. An absent father or positive male role model to help redirect, shape, and guide me in making good choices.

After serving at the Historic Shake and Bake Family Fun Center, located in the heart of West Baltimore, for more than three decades, this is where my passion to sew into the lives of inner city “at risk” youth developed. After being delivered from heroine, cocaine, and alcohol addictions in the year 1990, I spent the years thereafter mentoring young adolescent, teen and young adult males, and providing most of them their first experience with employment.

Changing BOYS MANtality MENtoring came to fruition after “Stem”, the first of many to receive an impartation as a mentee since 1991, and known to many as “Mr. Ant’s original knucklehead”, was murdered. This is what lead me to start CBMM. I know that every boy wants to be a good man. They just need men to show them the way. I also know that it takes a community of Positive and Consistent men to change a boy’s life. We are those men, and we are committed to help boys become the best men they can be. Every boy deserves this!
